  Combining new, used & rebuilt

Here are a few examples of how we have combined new, used or rebuilt components to keep the basic plant in compliance with environmental and changing state specifications. Contact us to discuss your needs today.

Upgrading the size of the baghouse or converting from a wet scrubber to a baghouse system. We have seen a number of environmental requirements - from lowering the total particulate emissions standards, to looking at PM-10, to additionally being concerned with hydrocarbons, NOx and other special requirements. Just because a specification has changed does not mean that the entire plant has to be scrapped. Often, by studying the entire combustion and air handling system, we can modify it to both gain an efficiency as well as reduce emissions from a plant. Similarly, we have dealt with a wide range of solutions for handling the dust collected in the baghouse and metering in fine dust - whether it be hydrated lime, liquid anti-strips and many other materials. We have successfully designed and supplied every type of these modified components for plants throughout North America and worldwide.

Additional tonnage requirements have needs for upgrading the main slat. Since the personnel involved at Hotmix Parts and Stansteel have built thousands of slat conveyors and silo systems, we understand every brand and every type. We know them from the inside out. We can often take the basic structure of the component, such as a main drag conveyor, and substantially modify it to upgrade the ton per hour by 50 tons per hour, 100 tons per hour and sometimes even more. We believe that utilizing the right components, such as chains, drives and other detailed engineered parts and pieces will yield a dependable performing unit. With the extremely high cost of some major new equipment, Hotmix Parts & Service understands the importance of saving an item such as a silo system and that can make a difference on whether the producing operation is successfully run or put in the marginal category.

Dryer and drum mix modifications to upgrade performance and add more materials. There are a number of plants that have mechanically sound equipment, but the technology and material processing has changed. There may be a need to run more RAP or RAS, or new requirements for a range of temperatures during production for warm mix (low) or Superpave (high.) Our engineering and application personnel can evaluate and help determine the critical components for improved operation: if a shell section can be replaced on an existing frame or even less significant changes are needed in order to yield an acceptable performance.
